Our Work

DisruptDC is built to put political reform at the top of the agenda — and win. Our focus is on enacting high-impact policy changes, advancing technology to improve government, and elevating the business voice for change.

We’re the only business group focused exclusively on upgrading government from end to end. Experts call our work a “game-changer.” Here’s what we’re doing in 2017–2018.

Initiatives

Technology Leadership Group

Technology and data science are starting to transform government  — and we’ve barely scratched the surface. Our Technology Leadership Group will help fulfill technology’s promise to upgrade government. The group will start by investigating and identifying the best technologies for making government more transparent and accountable. Research will cover a wide range of ideas from election security to artificial intelligence. Findings will be released in 2018.

To join, co-sponsor, or advise the group, please contact us.

Conference on Capitalism and Government

We’re planning a conference with Columbia University’s Center on Capitalism and Society in early 2018. The event will focus on the future of capitalism, the current state of America’s economy, and how government must evolve to promote economic prosperity. Speakers will include 2006 Nobel Prize winning economist Edmund Phelps, business leaders from across the country, and thought leaders from government, media, and academia.

To co-sponsor the event, nominate a speaker, or volunteer, please contact us.

Policy Initiatives

Many important policy initiatives are underway and more are coming in 2018. We’re going to support the following initiatives by engaging state and local business leaders, hosting events, conducting polls, raising public awareness, and more:

  • California: Voting Modernization Act
  • Massachusetts: Ranked Choice Voting ballot initiative
  • Missouri: Clean Missouri ballot initiative
  • New Mexico: Independent Ethics Commission ballot initiative
  • Ohio: Fair Congressional Districts ballot initiative
  • U.S. Census 2020: Advocate for a full and accurate count

By partnering with these efforts, we can add an influential business voice and tilt the scales toward victory.
